2015 Annual Convention

We invite you to take advantage of the opportunity to engage in conversations with our diverse group of statewide attendees from the mental health community.  Attendees will enjoy inspiring keynote speakers, educational sessions/workshops, a brief awards presentation and a wonderful luncheon.HPA’s convention has been the largest statewide convention for mental health professionals for over 20 years. 

Friday will begin with a “Town Hall Meeting” discussion with Marie Terry-Bivens, Psy.D. (HPA President), Lesley Slavin, Ph.D. (HPA President-Elect), Nancy Sidun, Psy.D. (Past President), and June Ching Ph.D. (APA Council Representative). Join us in this lively conversation to discuss professional concerns you feel are most important to you regarding your work specialty and play an active part in helping to shape the state and national agenda for our psychology profession.

Friday’s keynote speaker, Daniel O. Taube, J.D., Ph.D.,will be presenting a workshop entitled, “Ethics and Risk Management in the Age of The Affordable Care Act:  Everything You Didn’t Want to Know and Were Afraid to Ask.”  After completing the workshop, you will be able to earn 6 CE Credits and eligible to receive a 15% discount off your Trust Sponsored Professional Liability Policy Premium.  

Dr. Taube earned his J.D. from Villanova University in 1985 and his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Hahnemann University in 1987, as a member of the Hahnemann/ Villanova Joint Psychology and Law Graduate Program. He is a Full Professor at the California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco at Alliant International University, past Psy.D. Program Director, founder and coordinator of the Forensic Family Child Track and member of the Child/Family Track.
