This year’s theme is “Opportunities and Challenges in Psychology and Mental Health, reflects HPA’s ever-strengthening commitment to connect member psychologists with the full range of practice opportunities that exist in our rapidly changing economy.  This convention will be an exceptional opportunity for psychologists to access a broad network of expertise useful for anticipating and responding to changes in healthcare, as well as innovating and expanding into developing practice opportunities. The presentations and events will be at the conveniently located Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort Ballrooms on O`ahu.

Friday will begin with a “Town Hall Meeting” discussion with Nancy Sidun, Psy.D. (HPA President), Marie Terry-Bivens, Psy.D. (HPA President-Elect), Darryl Salvador, Psy.D. Join us in this lively conversation to discuss professional concerns you feel are most important to you regarding your work specialty and play an active part in helping to shape the state and national agenda for our psychology profession.

Friday’s keynote speaker, Lynn Bufka, Ph.D., is the Assistant Executive Director for Practice Research and Policy at the American Psychological Association in Washington DC.  She will provide attendees with all of the most current information on practice trends, guidelines for managing new practice areas, and a clear perspective of what is working best for psychologists across the country. The HPA awards luncheon will follow.
