    Honolulu Psychology Collective would like to introduce our newest member – Krista DiVittore. Dr DiVittore primarily works with young adults with adjustment, anxiety, depression/school/work issues however also works with adolescent ages 12+.

     

    Krista DiVittore, PsyD is a dual licensed clinical psychologist, both in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and State of Hawaii. Dr. DiVittore is committed to creating a space that is nonjudgmental and supportive for clients to start creating change in their lives to build a life that is meaningful to them. Dr. DiVittore works collaboratively with individuals to identify areas within their life blocking them from feeling fully engaged and satisfied, then works with clients to gain insight, communicate effectively, learn coping skills, and find self-empowerment to overcome these barriers contributing to dissatisfaction and distress. She has a strong interest in treating mood and anxiety disturbances, life transitions and adjustments, and relationship issues. In individual psychotherapy, Dr. DiVittore works from an integrative, solution-focused perspective incorporating Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She also has experience working with adolescent and young adult individuals on the autism spectrum increasing awareness and management of their emotional experiences and learning social skills. Dr. DiVittore helps individuals feel empowered in, more connected with, and more in control of their own lives, so that they can move toward achieving what they hope for in themselves, in work/school, and within their relationships.

     

    Dr. DiVittore earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University, School of Professional Psychology in Hillsboro, Oregon. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Florida State Hospital, a psychiatric facility where she gained experience providing diagnostic and forensic evaluations, as well as providing treatment for the forensic inpatient population on a multidisciplinary team. Dr. DiVittore completed her post-doctoral requirements at McLean Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where she was the primary clinician on a unit working with children and adolescents diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental disorder and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. She remained there as a Staff Psychologist and was appointed as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School with this position. While in Boston, Dr. DiVittore also opened a small private practice, providing psychotherapy, consulting services, and coaching services. During this time, Dr. DiVittore co-authored the book 5 Things You Need to Know About Social Skills Coaching, which describes the approach and philosophy that she and her co-author found success with in helping individuals who struggle with the mechanics and navigation of social interactions. Dr. DiVittore is part of a military family, resulting in frequent relocations and this short time in Hawaii.
